Walking the spiritual path is an exciting and thrilling adventure, but all spiritual travelers need to master some basic tools to keep themselves healthy throughout their growth process. In this Spiritual Hygiene Basics series, we'll explore various supportive practices to keep you aligned and balanced, and to lay the foundation for your next stage of spiritual advancement. Each class will include a lesson, group discussion, and integration activity.
May's Topic: Grounding
Grounding is a term used to describe the process of being fully present in the body and our physical experience. This is a necessary practice, especially for those exploring their intuitive or psychic abilities, as grounding helps us keep those experiences in balance with our earthly expression. Being ungrounded is a common problem within the spiritual community, and can lead to unnecessary struggle, fear, or setbacks on your growth journey.
Grounding work is connected to developing a healthy Root Chakra and addressing our survival needs as expressed in the first circuit of the 8-Circuit model - we'll explore these associations and more together.
In this class, we’ll:
Discuss what grounding is, the benefits of a regular grounding practice, and go over ways to incorporate grounding into your spiritual routines
Experience an integration meditation using hypnotic techniques to ground your energy and further explore your own grounding needs moving forward
Gather with other spiritual explorers to deepen and grow our spiritual journeys within community through discussion and support
This class is for spiritual beginners and experts alike! No previous knowledge is necessary, and all are welcome.
Please bring a yoga mat, a meditation cushion or pillow, a blanket, and an eye mask, as we'll be seated on the floor for class and then experiencing a meditation together. Chairs will be available for those who'd prefer them. Please also bring a journal and writing utensil, and water in a closed container for hydration.
